2. What we collect

Identifying and contact details; Medicare, DVA and insurer details where relevant; health information including history, examination findings, diagnoses, treatment and correspondence; and, for medico-legal assessments, documents provided by the referring party. We collect this directly from you, from your referrer, from other treating practitioners with your consent, and from documents provided for the purpose of an assessment.

3. Why we collect it

To provide clinical care; to prepare independent reports where that is the purpose of your attendance; to communicate with your referrer and other treating practitioners; to bill and claim; and to meet legal and professional obligations.

4. Medico-legal assessments

If you attend for an independent assessment, the information you provide is collected for the purpose of a report to the party who instructed Dr Siddle. That report will be provided to them. Dr Siddle is not your treating doctor in that setting and does not owe you the duty of a treating doctor, but your information is still held securely and handled under this policy.

5. Disclosure

We disclose information to your referrer and, with your consent, other practitioners involved in your care; to the party who instructed a medico-legal report; to Medicare, insurers and funds for billing and claims; and where required or authorised by law, including under subpoena, tribunal direction or mandatory reporting obligations.

6. Storage and security

Records are held in Medical Director with access controls, and in secure paper storage where paper is used. Records are retained for at least seven years from the last contact, or until a person under 18 turns 25, whichever is longer, as Queensland law requires.

7. Access and correction

You may ask to see or correct your health information. Requests should be made in writing to the rooms. There may be a reasonable charge for copying. Access may be limited where the law allows, for example where it would pose a serious threat to someone's health or safety, or where the record was prepared for legal proceedings. Report content prepared for a legal matter should be requested from the instructing party.

8. Website, cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits, to see which pages are read and how visitors arrive, and to count how often the email and phone links are used. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address, the pages you view and general details of your browser and device. Google may store and process this information outside Australia, including in the United States. It is used only to understand how the site is used. It is not used for advertising, and Google's advertising features are not turned on. Detailed analytics data is deleted after 14 months.

The website collects no other personal information. It sets no cookies of its own, and it uses no advertising or retargeting pixels of any kind.

The contact and clinical pages embed a Google map, which loads with the page. Google therefore receives your IP address and the address of the page you are viewing, and may set its own cookies in your browser. A written address and an Open in Google Maps link are shown alongside the map. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which also discloses your IP address to Google.

Nothing else on this site sends your information to a third party.

9. Complaints

Raise a concern with the rooms first. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the Office of the Health Ombudsman Queensland.

11. Terms of use

What this website is. This website provides information about Dr Helen Siddle, Consultant Psychiatrist, and the assessments and clinical services she provides from her rooms in Spring Hill, Brisbane. By using it you agree to these terms.

Not medical or legal advice. The information on this website is general. It is not medical advice, legal advice or a substitute for either. Reading this website, or emailing the rooms, does not make you a patient of Dr Siddle and does not create a doctor–patient relationship or an engagement to provide an expert opinion. Clinical care begins with a referral from your GP and an appointment. Medico-legal work begins with a letter of instruction accepted by the practice.

Not an emergency service. Dr Siddle’s practice is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 000. For mental health help in Queensland at any hour, call 1300 MH CALL on 1300 642 255.

Descriptions of the law. Where this website describes a legal test or an Act of Parliament, it does so in plain words to explain what an assessment addresses. The description is not legal advice and is not a substitute for the legislation or the case law, which are linked where they are available. Legal questions should go to a lawyer.

Accuracy and updates. Reasonable care is taken to keep the information on this website accurate and current. Content may change without notice. Fees, availability and procedures are confirmed by reception at the time of enquiry.

Your use of the site. You may use this website for personal, professional or research purposes. You may not use it in a way that interferes with its operation or attempts to gain unauthorised access.

Copyright. The content of this website — its text and images — is © Dr Helen Siddle. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link. Legislation and case law referred to are Crown or public material and are not claimed.

Links to other websites. This website links to government, professional and mapping websites. Those sites have their own terms and privacy arrangements, which Dr Siddle does not control.

Liability. To the extent permitted by law, Dr Siddle and the website’s builder are not liable for loss arising from use of this website or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Disputes are subject to the courts of Queensland.

12. Accessibility

Our aim. This website is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and to be easy to read for people over 65, who make up many of its visitors.

What has been done. Body text is at least 17 pixels and never light grey on white. Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content. Buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels. Headings are in order and each page has one main heading. Animations are switched off for people who have asked their device to reduce motion. The site is in Australian English and every page declares its language.

Known limitations. The map on the contact and clinical pages is provided by Google Maps; the written address and an Open in Google Maps link are always alongside it. To make text larger, use your browser's zoom, which enlarges everything on every page.

Testing. This website was checked on 21 September 2026 for heading structure, page language, image and frame alternatives, keyboard focus, reduced-motion support and colour contrast, and on 6 October 2026 with an automated accessibility checker at desktop and phone sizes, at 400% zoom and at 200% text size. Every issue found was fixed. Every page was also checked for what a screen reader announces, and key pages were read with VoiceOver.

Tell us about a problem. If any part of this website is hard for you to use, please call reception on (07) 3162 1116 or email helen@drhelensiddle.com.au. Say which page and what happened. Reception will pass it to the people who maintain the site, and you will get a reply. If you need any information on this site in another form, reception can help.
